The RSC's Newcastle season continues this week with The Two Gentlemen of Verona at the Theatre Royal from Tuesday to Saturday.

Pilot Theatre's production of Roy Williams's version of Sophocles' Antigone comes to Northern Stage from Tuesday to Saturday (hear director Marcus Romer talk about this production in the BTG podcast).

Wet House continues in the Main House at Live Theatre until Saturday, whilst on Wednesday and Thursday in the Studio ARC presents I Told You This Would Happen, written and performed by Kathryn Beaumont.

The Lion King continues at Sunderland Empire until 1 November.

Red Ladder brings We're Not Going Back to Arts Centre Washington on Thursday.

We're Not Going Back is also at the Royalty Theatre in Sunderland on Wednesday.

UK Touring Theatre brings A Doll's House to the Customs House in South Shields on Monday and on Saturday I Left My Heart in Roker Park returns for one night only.

A Doll's House moves to Alnwick Playhouse on Tuesday.

We're Not Going Back moves to the Queen's Hall in Hexham on Saturday.

Money the Game Show is at ARC Stockton on Wednesday and Thursday.

Captain Murderer is at Middlesbrough Theatre on Tuesday, followed by Young Opera Venture with The Magic Flute on Wednesday.

At Darlington Civic this week One Man Lord of the Rings is on Wednesday and Stones in His Pockets on Saturday. On Friday at the Dolphin Centre Theatre Hullabaloo presents Angel (for age 10+).

The Trials of Oscar Wilde comes to the Georgian Theatre Royal in Richmond on Saturday.

The Harrogate Comedy Festival is at the Harrogate Theatre all week, including, on Saturday, Austentatious - an Improvised Novel, created in the style of Jane Austen on the basis of suggestions from the audience.
