From Tuesday to Saturday, the National Theatre of Scotland/Live Theatre co-production of Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour is at Newcastle’s Theatre Royal. In the Studio from Thursday to Saturday, Kava Girls plays as part of Northern Pride.

David Almond’s The Savage continues at Live Theatre until 23 July.

Footloose the Musical with Gareth Gates & Maureen Nolan comes to the Tyne Theatre and Opera House from Tuesday to Saturday. It has been announced that, due to a medical condition, Gates will not perform on Tuesday and Wednesday.

There’s a busy week at Newcastle’s Alphabetti this week: on Monday, The Truth Hurts and Milk the Cow present Cow Crew Social—Find the Others 005, a night of music, laughter and spoken word; on Tuesday, Kirsten Luckins presents The Trouble With Compassion, a performed conversation about kindness; on Friday, it’s PUG, a night of addictive performances for withered attention spans and on Saturday, it’s Write Faster, a mad hatched plan from writer Richard Stockwell and Alphabetti’s Ali Pritchard. The aim is for three writers to write a brand new play in front of the audience—there will be a typewriter, a computer and a quill. The writers will hand each line, stage direction and anything else they fancy to the actor for them to act out. They’ll each have to react to what the other writes…

Horrible Histories returns to Sunderland Empire with Groovy Greeks and Incredible Invaders from Tuesday to Saturday.

Theatre Space NE presents a promenade production of Romeo and Juliet in Roker Park, Sunderland, from Thursday to Sunday at 7. The production starts at the Beach Promenade entrance.

On Saturday and Sunday at 1:30 and 4, The November Club presents The Perfect View at National Trust Wallington.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, Cranked Anvil brings its production of Henry V to the Gala, Durham.

On Saturday, Billingham Forum presents Faces of Dance with a special guest performance by BBC Young Dancer 2015 winner Connor Scott and Vidya Patel, winner in the South Asian Dance Category.

On Monday and Tuesday, The White Rose & The Swastika comes to the Georgian Theatre, Richmond, followed on Saturday by Square Peg Theatre with Nordic Noir-inspired thriller Roseacre.

Roseacre will be at Harrogate Theatre’s Studio on Thursday and Friday.
