Matthew Bourne’s version of The Red Shoes comes to Newcastle Theatre Royal from Tuesday to Saturday.

East Is East continues at Northern Stage until 13 May. In Stage 3 on Wednesday, Sh!t Theatre presents Letters to Windsor House. Then from Thursday to Saturday, Mind the Gap in collaboration with director Alan Lyddiard (former Artistic Director of Northern Stage) and Denis Darzacq (award-winning French Photographer) presents Contained, combining live performance, film, photography, music and dance.

The Red Lion continues at Live Theatre until Saturday.

At 3PM on Sunday at Dance City, Padi Dapi Fish from Lithuania presents White Lullaby for age 18 months to 6 years.

The touring production of Grease comes to Sunderland Empire from Monday to Saturday.

From Thursday until 27 May, the University of Sunderland Faculty of Arts, Design and Media take over the theatre at Arts Centre Washington for Sunfest, its annual showcase.

On Sunday at 4PM All Star Productions presents Hollywood over the Hills at the Customs House in South Shields.

On Saturday the comedy Seriously Dead comes to Alnwick Playhouse.

Seriously Dead is at the Playhouse Whitley Bay on Thursday.

Swansea City Opera presents Lakmé by Léo Delibes at Middlesbrough Theatre on Saturday.

Hijinx Theatre in association with Blind Summit brings adult puppet show (for age 14+) Meet Fred to ARC Stockton on Wednesday.
