Michael Morpurgo’s World War I story Private Peaceful comes to Liverpool Playhouse.
To mark the centenary of World War I, the celebrated stage production is embarking on a UK tour which will begin at the Playhouse March 5-8.
First published in 2003, the book was adapted for the stage by Simon Reade. This one-man show had its world première in 2004 at the Bristol Old Vic with further productions at the Edinburgh Festival, in the West End and on sell-out tours.
It relives the life of Private Tommo Peaceful, a young First World War soldier awaiting the firing squad at dawn.
