From Page to Stage 2016 at the Tristan Bates Theatre in London and The Hope Mill Theatre in Manchester

From Page to Stage, Aria Entertainment's season of new musical theatre, is looking for musical theatre work for its fourth season.

This year's programme will be composed of a two-week run of a fully-staged production of a new British musical, on–script excerpts of new musicals in development and three works presented as rehearsed readings. There will also be a Gala Night of the best individual songs from this year's season.

Producer Katy Lipson said, “From Page To Stage is proving year after year how much writing talent we have in the UK. Each year we are sent over 150 new pieces and each year we reach more and more audiences.

"This year, we are delighted to be expanding into the North West of England and are looking for a piece which specifically incorporates or has a northern element to it; this will be workshopped and presented at The Hope Mill Theatre in Manchester over a week-long period in September 2016."

Submissions should include a 100-word synopsis of the musical, three MP3s, sample scenes and an example of the piano/vocal sheet music.

Scripts must be of shows that have not been previously produced; they should be written in English (must not be jukebox musicals) and have a cast that does not exceed eight people. The deadline for submissions is 3 June.

Return of the Soldier (music by Charles Miller, book and lyrics by Tim Sanders, based on the novel by Rebecca West) was produced at the Jermyn Street Theatre after a reading in the 2014 season.

From Page to Stage 2016 will take place the Tristan Bates Theatre in London and the winning show will also be seen at The Hope Mill Theatre in Manchester.
