Applications are open for this year's Kevin Elyot Award.

Offered by the University of Bristol Theatre Collection, The Kevin Elyot Award provides a writer’s residency to support a new piece of work, be it dramatic, creative or academic, inspired by the Kevin Elyot archive.

The archive is held at the University of Bristol Theatre Collection and contains scripts, correspondence, manuscript and publicity material.

The annual award comprises £3,000 to fund a four-week residency, support with research and a public sharing of the work.

Kevin Elyot (1951-2014) studied at the University of Bristol's Drama Department. Starting work as an actor, he went on to be a playwright and screenwriter. His credits includes Laurence Olivier Award and Evening Standard Theatre Award-winning My Night with Reg and Coming Clean.

The Kevin Elyot Award is funded by an endowment provided by his family and is open to writers, theatre practitioners and scholars.

Application is online where further information can also be found.

The deadline for applications is 5PM on 31 May.
