Birmingham Fest—an independent performing arts festival celebrating the city’s venues and arts scene—is to be held for the second year.

Artists and companies from across the UK as well as one from South Africa will

showcase their work in a two-and-a-half week programme of events which will be bigger than last year.

Some artists and companies use the festival as a taster before going to Edinburgh while others use it as a less expensive alternative.

The festival will take place between 11 and 27 July at the Blue Orange Theatre, the Crescent Theatre, the Old Joint Stock Theatre and a new venue, the Library of Birmingham.

The full programme is available at the Birmingham Fest web site.
