Amongst the eclectic offering at BAC this spring is Theatre Ad Infinitum's Ballad of the Burning Star which visits Battersea as part of a three-month tour. This politically-themed new musical play featuring cabaret, drag and chorus was a big hit at the Edinburgh Fringe, winning a number of awards.
On the heels of its own success with Riot at National Theatre temporary venue The Shed, The Wardrobe Ensemble presents its new show 33 about the Chilean mining crisis of 2010 which saw thirty-three men stuck half a mile under the ground.
By contrast, Major Tom by Victoria Melody is a one–woman–one–dog show which looks at beauty pageants and championship dog shows and I Wish I Was Lonely by Hannah Jane Walker and Chris Thorpe is a participatory event about communication where the audience commit to leaving their phones on.
Karaoke by Sleepwalk Collective is the second part of trilogy Lost In The Funhouse about pleasure and boredom. Taking the form of karaoke, the text and action are read off of a screen and projected for the audience to see.
These are just some of the highlights of the programme, full details of which are available on the BAC web site.
