Bath Shakespeare Festival

The 2006 Bath Shakespeare Festival runs from 7th to 18th March at the town's Thetare Royal, with productions in the main house, the Ustinov Studio and the new children's theatre space, the Egg.

Two of Shakespeare's histories condensed into one hour and twenty characters into the bodies of just three actors.

Four actors take on the challenge of performing thirteen roles as the infamous three witches conjure up the numerous characters in Macbeth’s ‘mind’s eye’.

The story of A Midsummer Night’s Dream as re-lived through the fevered nightmares of Shakespeare’s most neglected fairy.

Saturday 18th March
Puck's Bottom
Josh Elwell (UK)
A visual and magical piece with hand carved puppets and original musical score, inspired by traditional English and African folk music. A tapestry of slapstick, puppetry, magic and music. Suitable for everyone aged 5 and upwards.

Egg Café

Friday 10th - Saturday 11th & Friday 17th - Saturday 18th March
Shakespeare Unplugged
Late-night Festival Café
A late-night mix of performance, poetry, dance and music (loosely) inspired by the bard. A chance to mill with the festival’s actors, step up to the open mic stage, or simply soak up this an experimental flow of Shakespeare tributes from performers young and old. 9pm until late.

Bath Spa University

Full Tilt Theatre Company at Bath Spa University presents:
Shakespeare by the Lake: Hamlet
The stunning and magical lakeside grounds of Newton St Loe Campus provide the ethereal backdrop for Shakespeare’s most poignant of tragedies. Waterproof clothing and comfortable footwear are advisable.
