Shobana Jeyasingh’s latest dance work, at The Lowry in Salford from September 28 to 29, gets a bold new stage design from Tom Piper, co-creator of the Blood-Swept Lands and Seas of Red poppy installation for the Tower of London.

The world première of Bayadere—The Ninth Life is a radical reworking of the world-famous ballet La Bayadère.

Piper has created a series of shifting structures—museum-like vitrines and cages—to frame the nine dancers.
