My Friend Peter

Celebrating the 150th anniversary of Beatrix Potter’s birth, Hookhitch Theatre brings her world of animal stories to life in My Friend Peter.

A rustic hideaway of wood and sackcloth becomes the auditorium for a musical exploration of one of Potter’s most beloved characters, Peter Rabbit, as well as many other favourites.

The interpretation of one of children's literature's most celebrated authors weaves a tale that allows audiences to explore the writing in a new way. When twists of fate uncover a bitter-sweet reality behind the magic, will the fantasy unravel?

Suitable for ages eight and above, My Friend Peter is at daytime performances at Theatre by the Lake is Keswick on April 8 and at Preston Charter Theatre on April 13.

On April 9 in Keswick, The Bookworm Players, a Liverpool-based theatre company whose productions focus on development in younger audiences, present two stage adaptations, one a fairy tale, the other a medley of nursery rhyme favourites.
