Activities for families at the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford over the Easter holidays include workshops on how cuts and scars are created and dressing up with a range of props from the RSC costume store.

Advanced booking is recommended for Blood, Guts and Gore in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in which former RSC head of wigs and make-up Brenda Leedham will show how wounds are applied.

The workshop will be held on 30 and 31 March and again on 7 and 9 April. Each session will last from 11AM until 12 noon. The cost is £3.50 for adults and £2.50 for children. Other workshops will look at voice skills, speaking Shakespeare and stage fighting.

Free events include the great Shakespeare egg hunt from Saturday 28 March until Sunday 12 April, dressing up every day outside the PACCAR Room in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and craft workshops, based on the Sea-Markings exhibition by Susan Stockwell, on Thursday 2 April.
