Howman Books for the Brighton Fringe 2005

After the unprecedented success of the 2004 Brighton Festival Fringe, preparations for 2005 are off to a flying start having taken the first registration for an event from none other than Karl Howman.

Karl is well known for his role as ‘Jacko’ in the long running TV series Brush Strokes and star of the all singing all dancing Me and My Girl at the West End’s Adelphi Theatre. He has enjoyed a successful career in television, film and theatre. Assisted by Associate Producers, Frances Burnett and Chloe Howman, Karl now presents a brand new production from his very own company - FiCK Productions.

FiCK Productions will be showcasing their new and explosive comedy Hairy Fairies at the Brighton Festival Fringe. This is the second major work to be produced by FiCK coming hot on the heels of the hit show Hack which sold out at the Jermyn Street Theatre in the West End. Karl, the Artistic Director and Producer, says “The company aims to produce and perform contemporary works by new writers”.

Hairy Fairies by Lorna Bennett reunites the cast and designers of Hack to tell the story of a reality TV show set in the cut throat world of hair dressing, featuring transsexuals, boy-bands, American millionaires and celebrity-obsessed stylists, all of whom will do anything to win.

Next year’s Festival Fringe takes place between the 7th and the 29th of May 2005 and is set to be the most successful ever. Nick Stockman, the Fringe’s new Development Associate says, “By bringing his production to Brighton, Karl Howman will be part of the growing international profile of England’s leading Art’s festival”.

Registration is now open and the deadline for Visual Arts & Classical performances is January 17th 2005. The deadline for all other art forms is February 7th. For registration, news and information about Brighton’s most exciting arts event go to www.brightonfestivalfringe.org.uk
