Can't Pay? Won't Pay!

The Octagon Theatre in Bolton will stage Dario Fo’s knockabout comedy Can’t Pay? Won’t Pay! in place of the planned production of Stitched Up which was in their original season.

The latter is a brand new play that has been in development with the writers over the past 12 months but after much consideration it was decided the script needs a little longer in development and the venue has taken the decision to postpone the production. All customers who booked to see Stitched Up have been contacted directly.

Can’t Pay? Won’t Pay! is the witty romp that is as politically relevant today as when it first appeared on stage in 1974. Caught in the midst of an impromptu rebellion at the local supermarket, put-upon housewives Antonia and Margherita are swept along in a protest against the escalating cost of living. Fo wrote the hit comedy Accidental Death of an Anarchist that was a hit when it was performed at the Octagon in 2006.

It runs from April 25 to May 18.
