Jumpers for Goalposts

Oldham Coliseum Theatre will be presenting Tom Wells’s romantic comedy Jumpers for Goalposts this October, marking the main stage directorial debut of associate director Chris Lawson, who joined the company from London’s Almeida last year.

The play follows a five-a-side football team competing in their town’s LGBT league: Viv is a bossy pub landlady; Danny is a man with a secret; Luke is a shy librarian; Beardy Geoff is a busker; and Joe is Viv’s widowed brother-in-law.

Cast includes Luke Bailey (Casualty, Waterloo Road) as Danny, Graeme Hawley (Coronation Street) as Joe and Sally Carman (Shameless, Prisoners’ Wives) as Viv. Amongst her many credits, Sally Carman starred in the Coliseum’s all-female musical Dreamers in summer 2015.
