Re-told for a modern audience: Cinderella: A Wicked Mother of a Night Out

A site-specific show that “takes all the best of traditional British panto and tops it off with a pint” is to be performed in three community spaces in Derby.

Not Too Tame, an associate company of Derby Theatre, will stage Cinderella: A Wicked Mother of a Night Out by Luke Barnes—its first Christmas show.

Jimmy Fairhurst, artistic director and founder of Not Too Tame, said, “Cinderella: A Wicked Mother of a Night Out is exactly that—a great night out, accessible to audiences of all backgrounds and interests and anyone who enjoys a few drinks, a sing-song and time with their friends and loved ones after a hard week’s graft.

“We’ve taken the fairy tale of Cinderella and created a whole live experience, re-telling the story for a modern-day audience in real time, in a real boozer.

“This show is a culmination of several years of honing our craft, and the quality of the production matches our ability to throw a party.”

Cinderella: A Wicked Mother of a Night Out will visit the Crown and Arrows, Shelton Lock on Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 November, Ripley Miners’ Welfare on Thursday 29 and Friday 30 November and Sinfin Moor Social Club on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 December. It can also be seen at the 102 Social Club, Derby from Tuesday 4 until Saturday 8 December.
