After 15 sell-out seasons in seven years and 90 world premières, Manchester’s very own festival of mini plays JB Shorts is moving venues.
Named after the Joshua Brooks pub theatre where they have been staged until now, they have moved to one of the city’s newest venues, 53Two on Albion Street.
What hasn’t changed is a formula of six 15-minute plays by top TV writers that has been attracting thousands of Manchester theatergoers since 2009.
JB Shorts writer and actor James Quinn commented, “the versatile theatre space in Deansgate’s famous tunnel (formerly the Bauer Millett luxury car showroom) offers the underground atmosphere of our previous 15 shows but in a larger and more adaptable space with a larger seating capacity.”
The JB Shorts 16 writers include comedian Justin Moorhouse, Sarah McDonald Hughes, Dave Simpson, Peter Kerry and Lindsay Williams. Trevor Suthers also teams up with James Quinn and his daughter, freelance writer Aileen Quinn.
Performances run from November 1 to 12.
