An In Good Company session at Derby Theatre

Three East Midlands venues are on the lookout for associate artists to be part of their artist development scheme In Good Company.

Derby Theatre, Create Theatre in Mansfield and Attenborough Arts Centre in Leicester run the professional development programme for artists making work in the region.

Five companies were appointed when the programme began in July 2014. Now associate artists are required for 2015-16.

In Good Company offers mentoring and working with creative producer Ruby Glaskin to develop bespoke programmes. There will also be business and organisational advice; technical, marketing, fundraising, press and audience development support; and opportunities for feedback on performances.

One of the associate companies for 2014-15 is LaPelle’s Factory. Co-director Ollie Smith said, “being an associate company has been great. The sense of community has been incredibly important and opportunities for networking and the exposure of our work in the right places have helped us develop much more quickly than if we'd gone it alone.”

Artists and companies interested in being an In Good Company associate should submit a brief biography of the company (maximum 500 words) including full listings of all company members and collaborators, a list of key creative projects to date including performance dates and venues, examples of work submitted by an online link and/or images and testimonials.

Applications should be submitted by 5PM on Friday 12 June to Ruby Glaskin at [email protected]. Further details are available at the Derby Theatre web site.
