Coventry Belgrade welcomes Iain for his 23rd panto

Greg Powrie and Iain Lauchlan as the Ugly Sisters

Iain Lauchlan will take to the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry stage for his 23rd panto, Cinderella, which he is also writing and directing.

Lauchlan has a career spanning more than 40 years in the children’s entertainment industry. He wrote the series The Tweenies and also worked on BBC’s Playschool for eight years.

Lauchlan and fellow Scottish actor Greg Powrie, who will be appearing in his 18th panto, will play the Ugly Sisters in Cinderella.

Craig Hollingsworth returns to the Belgrade to play Buttons. His first Belgrade panto was in 2012 and he has continued to play the dame’s sidekick ever since.

Alice Rose Fletcher, who trained at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, majoring in ballet, will play Cinderella. She has performed at Disneyland Hong Kong and with the Hong Kong Ballet Company.

Maggie Robson will wave her magic wand as both the Fairy Godmother and the wicked stepmother. Bethany Brookes makes her professional stage debut as Prince Charming. Letitia Hector is Dandini. Completing the cast are Vicky Field, Leshane Williams and Vicki Stevenson. Twenty-seven children aged from 9 to 16 will make up the junior chorus.

Cinderella runs from Wednesday 22 November until Saturday 13 January 2018.

The Belgrade is giving away more than 600 tickets to local families in need as part of its Making Memories campaign.
