Darren East is Little Angel Theatre's third Associate Artist.
His past experience includes working as a performer and director with companies such as Unpacked Theatre and Touched Theatre; he also works with young people through arts organisation Cultures Club and on participatory puppetry projects.
During his year as Little Angel Associate Artist, East will be involved with HATCH, the theatre's work-in-progress festival, their new show and he will look into the use of marionettes for touring theatre and puppetry in opera.
He says of his appointment, “I have always believed that high quality puppetry can be a vital and compelling language for contemporary performance… and look forward to an exciting and creative year.”
Previous Associate Artists have been Jonathan Storey and Rachel Warr.
