Louise Dearman and Kai Owen are to join the cast of Dick Whittington, the 2014 panto at Stoke’s Regent Theatre.

As previously announced, Stoke’s “favourite pantomime duo” Jonathan Wilkes (Dick Whittington) and Christian Patterson (Sarah the Cook) will team up again for the panto.

Louise Dearman, probably best known for her roles in the musical Wicked, will play Alice. Kai Owen, from the Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood, will be King Rat.

Dearman performed in the Regent’s 2007 panto Cinderella and has been a judge on Jonathan Wilkes’s Stoke’s Top Talent contest.

She said, “When I was approached to come back to Stoke for this year’s panto I couldn’t wait to say ‘yes.’

“It’s a brilliant place to be at Christmas and I think the Regent’s panto is one of the best around. Jonny and Christian are a dream to work with.”

Dick Whittington is at the Regent Theatre from Friday 28 November until Sunday 4 January.
