Derby LIVE will host its first musical theatre school in the Guildhall Theatre at the start of the school holidays.
Enchanted Entertainment, producers of the Easter pantos that have visited both Derby Assembly Rooms and the Guildhall Theatre in previous years, are planning a fun-filled week for children aimed at improving their musical theatre performance skills.
Schoolchildren will be working with Easter panto creatives Kerry Blaskett (dance), Jezz Weatherall (singing) and Guy Pascall (acting). The tutors have all worked in professional theatre for well over a decade.
Choreographer Kerry Blaskett says, “We’ve planned an amazing week for children learning songs and routines from a variety of West End and Broadway musicals, which they’ll perform in two shows.”
The summer musical theatre school will be held at the Guildhall Theatre from Monday 28 July until Saturday 2 August and is open to anyone aged 8 to 16, regardless of experience.
