Diversity in the theatre debated at the National Theatre

Act For Change

Campaign group Act For Change, which wants to see greater inclusively of race, class, disability, gender, age and sexuality within UK live and recorded arts, is behind a debate to be held in June at the National Theatre.

The event will include an interview with Rufus Norris and a live public debate chaired by Shami Chakrabarti, head of civil rights group, Liberty.

Panellists announced so far are director Phyllida Lloyd, award-winning playwright Kwame Kwei‐Armah MBE, director of the 2012 Paralympics Opening Ceremony Jenny Sealey MBE, arts critic Mark Lawson and Labour MP Chris Bryant.

New data on diversity in these industries will also be announced.
