Ellen Kent Opera Company returns to New Victoria Theatre, Woking with Puccini's La Boheme and Verdi's Aida and is on the hunt for a dog to star as Musetta's dog in La Boheme.

Ellen Kent said, "people say never work with children or animals but I love to do both. The first time was 20 years ago when my pet cat Holly Go-Lightly was in one of my productions and was an instant hit. Since then we've had horses, dogs, goldfish and even a golden eagle with a 6-foot wingspan on stage.

"When we last did La Boheme and asked local people to volunteer their pets, it was a huge success and I'm sure there's plenty of doggie talent out there in Surrey".

The potential star needs to be well behaved, small and not easily upset or unnerved by loud noises and bright lights. The owner will also need to be prepared to go onstage in costume and be available for the performance on Tuesday 21 February.

Interested owners should send a photograph of their dog to Jules Bath at [email protected] and include a contact number and address as well as the breed, height, weight, age and name of the dog. If successful, the company will be in touch a week before the performance.
