Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen
The Exonerated in London

Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen's off-Broadway play The Exonerated, which ran at New York's 45 Bleeker Theater after premiering in Lod Angeles, about people on death row, which won a Fringe First and the U Win Tin Freedom of Expression Award at this year's Edinburgh Fringe (see our review), is at last to have a run at the Riverside Studios from 21st February to 11th June, with a possible West End outing being rumoured. The intention for the production to come to London was first revealed in February last year.

Based on interviews with forty people who had been on death row for between two and 22 years and then been released, it attracted a series of high profile performers both in New York and Edinburgh and is expected to do so in London, although no casting has yet been announced. According to a report in February 2004, the producer's choice for London casting at that time favoured Aidan Quinn (who was in the Edinburgh cast) and Vanessa Redgrave.

Philip Fisher interviewed Blank and Jensen earlier this year.
