Twenty shows will feature at London's King's Head Theatre during a two-week-long curated festival, #Festival46.

The programme includes theatre, comedy and musical theatre, amongst which are four shows from the venue's resident trainee directors:

  • contemporary horror story, A Haunting by Nathan Luck Wood
  • a duologue set in the London Blitz, The Soul of Wittgenstein by Ron Elisha
  • a new play challenging the nature of possession, Turf by Margaret Perry
  • the Adrian Pagan award shortlisted Phoebe by A C Smith

In addition to Edinburgh previews, the festival includes cabaret with Margaret Thatcher: Queen of Game Shows, 2015 Edinburgh hit Noël Coward and Friends Live in Las Vegas, and one-woman shows That’s Entertainment, a performance from the now 91-year-old Thelma Ruby, Shaedates: Or how I learned to love myself and Freud The Musical.

Adam Spreadbury-Maher, the venue's artistic director, said, "in just 2 jam–packed weeks, this year's festival embodies the spirit of our venue: a place for early-career artists to develop their skills, a space for exciting young companies to perform alongside theatrical veterans and an opportunity to form long-lasting and fruitful creative partnerships. I can’t wait for audiences to see just what we have on offer."

#Festival46 runs from 18 to 31 July.
