Full casting has been announced for the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of Macbeth which is to have a six-month run in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford.
As previously announced, Christopher Eccleston, who will take part in his RSC debut season, and Niamh Cusack will play Macbeth and Lady Macbeth.
They will be joined by David Acton (Duncan), Afolabi Alli (company), Donna Banya (Donalbain / gentlewoman), Stevie Basaula (bloody captain / 2nd murderer), Edward Bennett (Macduff), Katy Brittain (doctor), Raif Clarke (boy), Paul Dodds (chamberlain 1), Josh Finan (company), Bally Gill (Ross), Mariam Haque (Lady MacDuff), Michael Hodgson (porter), John Macaulay (chamberlain / lord), Luke Newberry (Malcolm), Tom Padley (1st murderer), Tim Samuels (Lennox) and Raphael Sowole (Banquo).
Polly Findlay directs Macbeth. Design is by Fly Davis with lighting by Lizzie Powell and music by Rupert Cross. Sound is by Christopher Shutt and movement is by Aline David. Fights are by Kate Waters and illusions by Chris Fisher.
Macbeth runs in repertoire from Tuesday 13 March until Tuesday 18 September. Press night will be Tuesday 20 March. The production will be broadcast live to cinemas on 11 April. Further screenings will follow from 4 May.
