Derby Theatre’s artistic director Sarah Brigham will directed Mike Kenny’s adaptation of J M Barrie’s Peter Pan in the main house for Christmas 2017.
She said, “I’m thrilled to direct and present Barrie’s classic story in a fantastic adaptation by Olivier Award-winning writer Mike Kenny.
“Peter Pan is a favourite with all ages and a much-loved tale full of magic and a host of mystical and curious characters. Our version will be a fun and stylish interpretation for audiences aged five and over.
“Our Peter will be fun, feisty, incredibly inquisitive and ready to soar and explore the mysterious Neverland with a few quirky characters and creatures in tow, all who sing and play live instruments.”
Jack Brett will play the title character while Sally Ann Staunton is Wendy. Ru Hamilton plays Michael Darling and Julian Capolei takes the role of John Darling. Neal Craig is Captain Hook, Esme Sears plays Tinkerbell, Jack Quarton is Smee and Elizabeth Eves plays Mrs Darling.
Neil Irish is set designer, Tim Heywood costume designer and Emma Jones lighting designer. Composer is Ivan Stott.
Peter Pan will run at Derby Theatre from Saturday 2 December until Saturday 6 January 2018.
