Girl on the Train on track for West End

The Girl on the Train, starring Samantha Womack as Rachel Watson, will transfer to London's Duke of York's Theatre for a limited run. Based on the best-selling novel by Paula Hawkins and the Dreamworks film, the play has been touring since the beginnng of the year.

Womack, best known for playing Ronnie Mitchell in Eastenders, said, "I am absolutely loving playing Rachel. She's such an interesting character and we've had a brilliant reception from our audiences who have been gripped by her story. This tour has already been the journey of a lifetime and I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to bring it to the West End."

The Girl on the Train, produced by Simon Friend, Amblin Entertainment and Josh Andrews, adapted by Rachel Wagstaff and Duncan Abel and directed by Anthony Banks, will run at the Duke of York's from 23 July to 17 August 2019.
