Guildford's Yvonne Arnaud Theatre announces new season

The Play That Goes Wrong

It's not too late to enjoy the traditional pantomime Cinderella (until Sunday 12 January) where Surrey-born singer dancer, actress and all-round entertainer Bonnie Langford stars as Fairy Snow leading a cast including Kit Hesketh-Harvey, Eagle Radio's Peter Gordon, Robert Maskell, Jamie Brook, Tom Senior, Will Breckin and Alice Baker.

Following this, there is a wide-ranging programme of entertainment planned at the Yvonne Arnaud from January to May:

  • Douglas Hurd and Roy Hattersley talk about their days in Parliament and their views of Westminster today in Conversations on 15 January.
  • The comedy club Jongleurs on Thursday 16th January.
  • Barry Cryer in Twitter Titters on 17 January: "Be merciful to the aged - accused of persistent joking - he merely seeks to bring a ray of sunshine amid the dark clouds of life."
  • A true story of passion, music and tragedy: Beloved Clara on 18 January, the intense relationship between Robert Schumann and his wife Clara and Johannes Brahms.
  • The first of a double bill of Alan Aykbourn plays Time of my Life on 22-25 January and 1 February. The first revival since its première in 1992. The second play Arrivals and Departures runs from 28 January to 1 February.
  • Guildford School of Acting present Grease 8-15 February.
  • Alex Parker presents Jule, Jerry and Steve on 1 February, a concert celebrating three of Broadway's composers.
  • Adaptation of Robert Stevenson's Kidnapped 19-20 February
  • The Russian State Ballet and Opera House with Carmen (21 February) and La Traviata (22 February).
  • The comedy Boeing Boeing from 27 February to 1 March.
  • Kindertransport (3-8 March) stars Maggie Steed and Janet Dibley.
  • Jenny Seagrove and Sara Crowe star in Fallen Angels by Noel Coward from 10-15 March.
  • The Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society attempt to put on a 1920s murder mystery The Play That goes Wrong from 17-22 March.
  • Liza, Liza, Liza: the professional and private lives of Liza Minnelli runs 25-29 March.
  • Bram Stoker's Dracula (Monday 31st March - Tuesday 1st April)
  • Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights from 3-5 April.
  • Pygmalion with Alestair McGowan, Rula Lenska and Jamie Foreman from 7-12 April.
  • Jack Shepherd stars in Classic Ghosts from 14-19 April.
  • Robert Powell stars in Agatha Christie's Black Coffee from 22-26 April.
  • Dial M for Murder with Christopher Timothy runs from 20-24 May.
  • Michael Morpurgo's Private Peaeful from 22-24 May.
