Guildford Shakespeare Company will celebrate Shakespeare's birthday with a staged reading of Henry VIII on 19 April, the story of Catherine of Aragon's fight to preserve her marriage to Henry, his desire to marry Anne Boleyn and the downfall of Cardinal Wolsey, known to Shakespeare's original audiences as All is True.
Richard Neale will also direct staged readings of Pericles and Cymbeline at St Mary's Church, Quarry Street.
On 22 and 23 April from noon, the Sonnet Walks will provide a mystery walking tour, encountering Shakespeare and his characters in the least likely of places. There are 13 walks each day, each lasting approximately 60 minutes, starting every 15 minutes from Stoke Park Home Farm.
On 30 April at St Mary's Church, Quarry Street, the new Young Company presents its first public performance based on the three Shakespeare plays GSC staged last year, titled The Tale About Errors.
