The chilling facts and personal stories behind the work of the nation’s hangmen and those they executed are on exhibition at The Dukes gallery in Lancaster, as part of the theatre’s new co-production of Pierrepoint—The Hangman’s Tale.

As well as featuring the life and work of Albert Pierrepoint, England’s most famous hangman, this exhibition gives visitors the chance to discover more about others who plied the same trade, some at Lancaster Castle.
