The Play That Goes Wrong: visiting Birmingham Hippodrome in March 2018

Birmingham Hippodrome has released its programme running through 2018 which will be an “incredible” year, according to artistic director and chief executive Fiona Allan.

She said, “indoor, outdoor, large-scale and intimate—the Hippodrome is making huge efforts to present shows for all ages, all tastes and all budgets.

“Looking through our 2017/18 season, there are so many stand-out productions to choose from, Matilda in the summer and War Horse in the autumn. It’s going to be an incredible year. But it’s not all about the blockbusters.

“The Hippodrome’s ability to continue to present such amazing productions and events is, of course, down to our audiences. We’re a charity in receipt of no revenue funding, so their support ensures we can continue to bring unforgettable performances to the heart of the West Midlands.”

Newly announced productions include the new UK tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical, Evita (20 until 24 March 2018), West End comedy The Play That Goes Wrong (27 until 31 March 2018), rhythm-and-dance spectacular Stomp (29 May until 2 June 2018) and the first UK tour of Peter Stone’s Titanic—The Musical (4 until 9 June 2018).

Matilda the Musical will visit the Hippodrome from 3 July until 8 September 2018 and War Horse from 10 October until 3 November 2018.

The full programme is available at the Birmingham Hippodrome web site.
