On the move: Adrian Jackson is to leave Lichfield Garrick

Adrian Jackson is to leave Lichfield Garrick in the summer to become chief executive of Wolverhampton Grand Theatre.

Jackson has been chief executive and artistic director of the Garrick since 2006. Among the changes he instigated was leading the theatre away from the control of Lichfield district council to become a charitable, stand-alone trust.

He said, “I’ve enjoyed my time at the Garrick immensely over the years, working in a very special venue and meeting a huge range of fascinating and talented people.

“I’ll leave behind a fantastic and capable team who are committed to bringing great theatre and community projects to Lichfield audiences and beyond. It’s been an absolute pleasure to work with them all.”

James Leavesley, chairman of the board of trustees at the Garrick, said, “we wish Adrian all the best in his move to the Grand Theatre. Given the Grand’s size and significance, it’s a natural progression for someone with Adrian’s talent and experience.

“We’re entering a very exciting time at the Garrick which wouldn’t have been possible without Adrian’s guidance. A re-structuring of the management team will ensure that the future prosperity and reputation of the Garrick will continue to grow and flourish.”

Jackson takes over from Peter Cutchie who is retiring after ten years at the Grand.
