George's Marvellous Medicine

Centenary celebrations of Roald Dahl’s children’s tale George’s Marvellous Medicine come to Manchester Opera House from November 15 to 19.

First published in 1981, it remains one of Dahl’s funniest stories about a young boy who makes a marvellous new medicine to cure his grandmother of her terrifying temper.

Ed Thorpe plays George, Richard Mullins plays George’s Dad, twin sisters Debroah Vale and Tess Vale play the roles of Grandma and George’s Mum respectively and Tom Eykelhof plays the Giant Chicken and also acts as assistant stage manager.

Since 1992, Birmingham Stage Company have produced more Dahl shows than any other company in the world. Their recent hit shows have included Horrible Histories and the world premiere of Gangsta Granny by David Walliams.
