Death of the English Pub

Farewell Theatre Company will stage a second showing of their new play after a sold-out run.

The Death of the English Pub will be at the Talleyrand in Levenshulme, Manchester August 17.

Written and performed by Reece Hallam (Me & Thee) alongside Ross Thompson (The Bench) and Ward J Harries (Nobody Loves You & You Don’t Deserve to Exist) the play takes takes a journey through three different decades showing the rebirth, demise and clouded world of pub culture.

It’s closing time. Three friends have one final drink in their local before it closes for good. As the night draws to an end, they talk about the good times, the bad times and just why so many pubs in England are suffering the same fate.

The relaxed performance is fully immersive, tackling the boundaries between storytelling and theatre conventions.
