Lichfield Garrick flies high with Aladdin

The second panto to be co-produced by Lichfield Garrick and Evolution Pantomimes will be Aladdin.

Tim Ford, the Garrick’s artistic director, said, “Aladdin will bring together some of the very best pantomime performers from across the country including top West End dancers and the wonderful Cat Sandion. We’re also very happy to welcome back the extremely funny Sam Rabone and Ben Thornton who I’m sure will cause even more mischief this year.”

Sandion is known for her appearances on the television channel CBeebies. Rabone is based in Sutton Coldfield and Thornton is a TV presenter who was in the BAFTA award-winning show People Just Do Nothing. In 2016, they played Nurse Nellie and Jangles in Sleeping Beauty.

They are joined by children’s author Ian Billings as the Emperor of China, Lichfield-based actress Lizzie Wofford as the Spirit of the Ring, James Mitchell as PC Pongo, stage and musical theatre actor Cameron Johnson as the Genie of the Lamp, Laine Theatre Arts graduate Adrian Bevan as Aladdin and “Sutton Coldfield’s finest baddie” Robin Johnson as Abanazar.

Aladdin is written by Paul Hendy of Evolution Pantomimes, directed by Tim Ford and produced by the same team behind 2016’s Sleeping Beauty.

Aladdin runs at the Garrick from Thursday 30 November until Sunday 31 December.
