Live Theatre, the Newcastle Quayside venue hosts a mini season throughout April.

The first reading April 13, will be Nina Berry’s The Taxi Driver’s Daughter. A celebration of Julia Darling on the anniversary of her death, based on Darling’s novel.

Live Theatre audiences voted for plays they would wish to return and Wet House by Paddy Campbell was a clear winner. Set in a homeless hostel it receives a fresh reading April 14.

On April 15, Shelagh Stephenson introduces An Experiment With An Air Pump, her acclaimed play set in Newcastle on consecutive New Year’s Eves.

Live Theatre’s flagship play The Filleting Machine by Tom Hadaway will be read alongside Alex Oates’s The Filleting App, an update on the story for the digital age April 16.

Middlesbrough playwright Ishy Din returns with breakthrough play Snookered April 21.

The final reading is Lee Hall’s Wittgenstein On Tyne April 22.
