London Bubble returns to South East London, after an absence of seven years, to present Tales From The Arabian Nights in Southwark and Greenwich Parks.

The show was the company's first promenade production 1994 and it is being reworked for this revival which will be directed by Bubble creative director Jonathan Petherbridge.

Tales From The Arabian Nights is written by Farhana Sheikh whose other credits include the award-winning Mincemeat with co–writer Adrian Jackson and, with the composer Thomas Johnson, an oratorio, Gilgamesh.

London Bubble was for decades a feature of summer theatre in the capital but, following funding cuts, the company had to create a model of working without Arts Council support.

The company works extensively with schools and people of all ages. This includes the programme Speech Bubbles for children with communication blocks, Young Theatre Makers which retrains young people not in work, training or education and Creative Elders which works with isolated elders in sheltered housing schemes.

Tales from the Arabian Nights will be performed in Southwark Park from 1 to 6 August and in Greenwich Park from 9 to 19 August (daytime and evening performances). Tickets are on sale now.
