This year's London Writers' Week in July will include events led by Tim Crouch, BBC Writersroom, Tamasha, the Writers' Guild of Great Britain and the National Association of Writers in Education.

Writer and performer Crouch will lead a workshop on his recent residency at Central Saint Martins, his currently touring show The Complete Deaths and his methods for developing new work.

There will be a WGGB day of panel discussions. Playwright David Edgar will chair an event on fact-based theatre with panellists Alecky Blythe, Gillian Slovo and Richard Norton Taylor, while Jenifer Toksvig will chair a discussion on book writing for musical theatre with panellists Gurinder Chadha and Catherine Johnson.

Central Saint Martins will present a showcase from its MA in Dramatic Writing and an event with Oscar winner and Theatre Design Central Saint Martins graduate Jenny Beavan.

There will be showcases of Tamasha's new project and from the Dark Horse Festival for unproduced plays, a day with Bush Theatre and Oberon Books on The Student Guide to Writing: Playwriting, a workshop for young writers by NAWE, a masterclass with head of BBC Writersroom Anne Edyvean on how theatre writers can make the transition to other dramatic forms and an event with ACE on Grants for the Arts and Arts Council priorities for theatre funding.

London Writers' Week Director Jennifer Tuckett said that the event, “was founded last year with the aim of providing access to and showcasing the best new ideas going on in terms of writing in the UK.

"We’re delighted that this year’s focus is theatre writing and we hope the week provides access, in one week, to some of the most interesting theatre writing and theatre writing ideas going on in the UK. There should be something for everyone—from students to the public to writers and the industry.”

Ellie Peers, WGGB Acting General Secretary, said, “WGGB is proud to support London Writers’ Week once again, with its focus this year on theatre writing, and we are delighted that our Theatre Committee will be hosting a full day and two panel events.”
