FLARE15 brings together award-winning companies from across the UK and Europe in a week-long festival from July 13 to 18 in Manchester.

Four of the festival's shows have been announced ahead of the main launch, including UK premières of Scenes for a conversation after viewing a Michael Haneke film by El Conde De Torrefiel (ES), Body on by Tamar Blom and Kajetan Uranitsch (NL), and Los Microphonos by Guillem Mont de Palol and Jorge Dutor (ES).

Around 16 more performances are due to be announced after the closing date for submissions on March 31.

From shows that present the human body as both comic and tragic, to humorous conversations on the vulnerability of language itself, FLARE15 presents British audiences with a series of innovative works, hosted by Contact, Royal Exchange Theatre, Z-arts and the Martin Harris Centre.

Artistic director Neil Mackenzie said: “FLARE15 is the missing link between the new wave of international theatrical innovators and arts audiences in the UK. We're thrilled to be presenting a number of UK premières from brand new and award-winning companies that I believe will inspire the next generation to push the artform forward.”
