At the end of this month, actor, director, writer and musician Mark McGann brings his show based on the life of John Lennon, In My Life, to the Royal Court Theatre, Liverpool.

Part-concert, part-narration, it is the only theatrical work about Lennon which is endorsed by his immediate family. It was performed to a sell-out house at the Royal Court last year as part of the International Beatleweek celebrations and now returns for two performances—one at 3PM, the other at 8PM on August 30.

Liverpool-born McGann has become linked with Lennon throughout his varied 35-year career in theatre, TV and film. He received his first big break in 1981 playing the former Beatle in a musical called Lennon while a member of the Everyman Theatre Company. The role led him to the West End, Broadway, national tours and one of his two Olivier Award Nominations for Best Actor.
