The third week of the Classic Thriller Season at Nottingham’s Theatre Royal features Fatal Encounter by Francis Durbridge from Monday until Saturday.

Nottingham Playhouse’s advanced youth theatre will perform Peter Shaffer’s Equus in the Playhouse’s Neville Studio from Monday until Saturday.

Heartbreak Productions’ outdoor presentation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice visits St John’s House Museum, Warwick on Tuesday and the Shugborough Estate, Staffordshire on Wednesday.

Opera della Luna performs Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Mikado at Buxton Opera House from Thursday until Saturday while former singers of the D’Oyly Carte Opera Company serve up A Feast of Gilbert and Sullivan in the Opera House on Sunday.

Chapterhouse Theatre Company stages Laura Turner’s new adaptation of Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights in the open air at Wollaton Hall, Nottingham on Friday.

Cambridge Touring Theatre presents an open-air production of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland – the Musical in the Pavilion Gardens, Buxton on Saturday and Sunday.

Wicked continues at Birmingham Hippodrome until Saturday 6 September.

At the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford, in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre The Two Gentlemen of Verona continues until Thursday 4 September and Henry IV Parts I and II continue until Saturday 6 September while in the Swan Thomas Middleton and Thomas Dekker’s The Roaring Girl continues until Tuesday 30 September, Arden of Faversham continues until Thursday 2 October and John Webster’s revenge tragedy The White Devil continues until Saturday 29 November.
