Mojo Mickybo by award-winning Irish playwright Owen McCafferty becomes first West End transfer for Dalston's Arcola Theatre. Following a three week run in the Arcola Studio 2 in March, the Ambassador Theatre Group approached director Jonathan Humphreys (22) about the possibility of a transfer. But it was only when producer Lilli Geissendorfer (24) brought Strawberry Vale Productions on board that the idea became viable. Playwright Owen McCafferty, whose play Shoot the Crow premiered at the Trafalgar Studio 1 in November 2005, said, I am delighted that a young company such as Strawberry Vale Productions is bringing Mojo Mickybo to the West End. Their energy and exuberance suit the style of the piece perfectly. Mehmet Ergen, Artistic Director of the Arcola Theatre, added, Arcola Theatre has a track record of unearthing new talent and aged just 22 Jonathan directed our co-production of Mojo Mickybo. I am delighted to see both Jonathan and the play continuing to enjoy great success. We will continue to support people like Jonathan and wish him all the best for his run at Trafalgar Studios. Michael Lynas, Executive Director of the Ambassador Theatre Group said, We are very pleased that Trafalgar Studios is able to offer the opportunity for an exciting production like Mojo Mickybo to be seen in the West End. Please note that all three Archive indices are very long and will therefore take some time to download.
