Moscow City Ballet returns to Manchester's Opera House with two of their most famous and best-loved classical ballets Giselle and Swan Lake, from March 26-28.
Giselle tells the tale of a carefree village girl who dies of a broken heart when her peasant lover Albrecht is unmasked as a nobleman betrothed to another.
Swan Lake is a signature piece of Moscow City Ballet’s repertoire.
Founded in 1988 by Victor Smirnov-Golovanov, Moscow City Ballet remains in the safe hands of his devoted wife Ludmila Neroubashchenko, who has been leading the ballet company for the last few years.
Neroubashchenko said: “last season was emotional and daunting with it being our first UK tour since Victor died and the company’s 25th anniversary, but the audiences were amazing and supportive.”
