Hooked: John Altman

John Altman is to play Captain Hook in Wolverhampton Grand’s 2015 panto Peter Pan.

Altman is probably best known for his stint as Nasty Nick Cotton in the BBC’s EastEnders. He first appeared in the soap in 1985.

His theatre career spans three decades and includes performances as Bill Sykes in Oliver!, Jigger in Carousel, Rocco in Oh, What A Night!, Billy Flynn in Chicago The Musical, Lucky Eric in Bouncers, Glenn Miller in American Patrol, Gangster in Kiss Me Kate and Porter in Worms Eye View.

As previously announced, the Chuckle Brothers will play Paul and Barry Smee in Peter Pan at the Grand.

Michael Harrison, managing director of Qdos Entertainment’s pantomimes division, says, “I’m delighted that John has agreed to join us in pantomime this Christmas.

“John is a first-rate actor and to have him cast alongside the hilarious comedy talent of The Chuckle Brothers guarantees us another sensational season at The Grand Theatre.”

Peter Pan runs at Wolverhampton Grand from Saturday 12 December until Sunday 24 January 2016.
