The National Youth Theatre, one of the world’s leading youth arts organisations, comes to Manchester in February to hold auditions for new members.

Successful applicants will follow in the footsteps of celebrated alumni such as Helen Mirren, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Daniel Craig as well as Manchester’s own Ian McShane and Julie Hesmondhalgh.

For the first time, NYT will also be hosting workshops in a number of key skills-based areas. The organisation is holding a technical course at Z-arts on Friday February 24 as well as a series of masterclass courses in Acting for the Screen, February 20 to 25.

Last year, four successful young people from Manchester were selected to join the company from a record 4,830 applicants.

There will also be auditions at Liverpool's Everyman Theatre on February 11.
