The Royal Exchange Theatre season

The Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester will feature a Bruntwood Prize winner, a Pulitzer Prize-winner and two classic plays in its spring and summer season. Three of the four directors are making their debuts at the theatre.

The season opens with Phoebe Eclair-Powell's 2019 Bruntwood winning play Shed: Exploded View directed by Atri Bannerjee in his third production for the Exchange. This is followed by a revival of Shelagh Delaney's A Taste of Honey directed by Emma Baggott, then the UK regional première of Lynn Nottage's Pulitzer Prize-winning play SWEAT, directed by Jade Lewis.

Josh Roche will direct a contemporary production of Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest to end the season.
