Nottingham Playhouse’s specially adapted panto for Christmas 2020, Cinderella, has been delayed as the theatre will remain closed to the public because the city is in tier three of the government’s coronavirus restrictions.

It means that live performances of Cinderella and the Playhouse’s family show Jack and the Beanstalk will start no sooner than Wednesday 16 December.

Chief executive Stephanie Sirr said, "we’re disappointed to confirm that Nottingham Playhouse will remain closed. However, we’re delighted that our on-demand performances are being made available from mid-December and our Cinderella online Christmas Eve special will also go ahead as planned.

“We’ll continue to monitor and implement the latest government guidance and keep everyone informed."

Cinderella will run until Saturday 16 January 2021. Jack and the Beanstalk will run until Saturday 2 January, with one of the performances being recorded and made available for audiences to watch from home.
