An all-new version of the classic American frontier dance musical Seven Brides for Seven Brothers comes to Manchester Opera House this week starring Sam Attwater as Adam and Helena Blackman as Milly.

Anthony Burgess’s controversial novel A Clockwork Orange comes ‘home’ for a physical theatre ‘horrorshow’.

It’s at The Lowry in Salford from Monday to Saturday with Wednesday and Saturday matinees.

The Manchester Shakespeare Company opens with Desperate Measures, their debut play, at the Three Minute Theatre from Wednesday to Saturday and stars some of Manchester’s finest young actors.

Comedy impressionist Jon Culshaw plays a home ‘gig’ next Friday when he’s the special VIP guest to join the 2013 UK tour of The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy Radio Show – Live!, as The Voice Of The Book. Jon, who hails from Ormskirk, will be at Preston Guild Hall.

Live at LICA brings two shows which are billed as perfect for escaping family madness for a few hours.

A collection of drama horror premières from local writers and established genre greats will be showcased at the very first ever Greater Manchester Horror Fringe Festival from Scytheplays starting this week.

It runs between October 22-31 in Manchester and Salford, encompassing several venues including the Lass O'Gowrie, the King's Arms Theatre, the King's Arms Studio, Town Hall Tavern and FAB Cafe.
